Quickstart
Connect your first data source and ask your first question in ten minutes.
1. Create a read-only user
Northlight only needs read access. In Postgres:
CREATE ROLE northlight LOGIN PASSWORD 'choose-a-strong-password';
GRANT USAGE ON SCHEMA public TO northlight;
GRANT SELECT ON ALL TABLES IN SCHEMA public TO northlight;2. Connect the source
Open Settings → Data sources → Add source, choose Postgres and paste the connection string. Northlight checks that the user really is read-only before saving.
3. Ask a question
Open chat and try:
Which signup source brought the most active users last month?
Click Show query under the answer to see exactly what ran.
